APEC China CEO Forum 2022 Held

On November 3rd, the APEC China CEO Forum 2022 was held in Beijing, and Ren Hongbin, Chairman of the China Council for the Promotion of International Trade (CCPIT) and China Chamber of International Commerce (CCOIC), attended and addressed its opening ceremony.

Ren Hongbin pointed out that over the past 31 years since it joined the APEC, China had always been upholding the principle of consultation and cooperation for shared benefits, staying committed to the path of peaceful development, reform and opening-up, and multilateralism, and actively participating in Asia-Pacific economic and technological cooperation, so as to promote trade and investment liberalization and facilitation across the region and to inject a strong impetus into its development. In the face of green, low carbon development and digitalization brought by the new round of sci-tech revolution and industrial transformation, the business community should seize opportunities to strengthen new technological research, development and application, vigorously boost the growth of green industry, continuously deepen international economic and trade cooperation and actively participate in global economic governance. He said that the CCPIT will earnestly study, publicize and implement the guiding principles of the 20th CPC National Congress, further strengthen its service network for businesses and expand its international circle of friends, and make new and greater contributions to advancing high-standard opening-up, taking part in the reform and development of global economic governance system and building an Asia-Pacific community with a shared future.

Li Fei, Assistant Minister of Commerce, Yang Yinkai, Deputy Secretary General of the National Development and Reform Commission, Lu Junling, Chief Economist of the National Energy Administration, and Liu Mingsheng, Deputy Secretary of CPC Leadership Group, Director of the Board and General Manager of the China Datang Corporation, attended the opening ceremony and delivered speeches. Frank Ning, Chairman of the APEC China Business Council (ACBC) and APEC Business Advisory Council (ABAC) China Member, Arthayudh Srisamoot, Thai Ambassador to China, and Thanakorn Seriburi, Chairman of the Thai-Chinese Promotion of Investment and Trade Association and Senior Vice Chairman of the Charoen Pokphand Group, delivered video speeches in the opening ceremony.

Themed "Towards a Green Economy", the forum was co-hosted by the CCPIT and CCOIC, and organized by the ACBC. It also saw the release of the annual report of "Sustainable China Industry Development Initiative". Nearly 200 representatives from business, sci-tech and academic circles of APEC economies joined the forum online or offline.
