On November 4th, Yu Jianlong, Vice Chairman of the China Council for the Promotion of International Trade (CCPIT), met with Zheng Zeguang, Chinese Ambassador to the UK, in London, Britain. The two sides exchanged views on topics such as the sound development of the Sustainable Markets Initiative (SMI) China Council and further deepening cooperation.
Yu Jianlong said that the SMI China Council is committed to playing a positive role in the transition to a greener global economy. The CCPIT will make great efforts in the high-level development of China-UK economic and trade cooperation, in contributing to bilateral friendship, and in ensuring cooperation between the two countries' businesses, so as to drive forward China-UK relationship and mutually beneficial economic cooperation
Zheng Zeguang noted that the SMI China Council is a significant initiative to implement the consensus reached by the two heads of state and promote the green development in China, the UK and beyond, injecting new impetus into joint efforts to build a beautiful homeland for mankind. Efforts should be made to make the SMI China Council stronger and more influential and encourage Chinese enterprises to actively participate in the events of the Sustainable Markets Council and strengthen practical cooperation.
