On October 27, the first “Friendship Cup” Sino-foreign Government-enterprise Football Invitational hosted by the China Council for the Promotion of International Trade (CCPIT) successfully concluded in Beijing. After 8 days of competition and 36 intense matches, Nike (China) football team, State-owned Assets Supervision and Administration Commission of the State Council (SASAC) football team, New Youth football team and China Communications Construction football team secured the championship, runner-up, third place and fourth place respectively. This football invitational uses football as a medium to promote exchanges and interactions between foreign embassies and business associations in China, foreign-funded enterprises and relevant ministries and commissions, as well as Chinese-funded enterprises, helping all circles from China and abroad to enhance understanding, deepen friendship and expand cooperation.
The Invitational was strongly supported by Chinese Football Association (CFA), Dongcheng District People’s Government of Beijing Municipality and other relevant departments. Ren Hongbin, Chairman of the CCPIT, attended the closing reception and delivered a speech, while representatives from the relevant ministries and commissions, foreign embassies and business associations in China, the 17 participating teams and all walks of life from China and abroad attended the closing reception.
