On October 28, the BRICS Economic and Trade Forum was held in Beijing. Zhang Shaogang, Vice Chairman of the China Council for the Promotion of International Trade (CCPIT), attended the opening ceremony and addressed the event.
Zhang Shaogang said that this year marks the beginning of “Greater BRICS”. The business community of the BRICS countries should follow the visions outlined at the 16th BRICS Summit, focus on strengthening of BRICS trade development and standards cooperation, support standards to play an increasingly prominent role in accelerating high-quality development of trade, and realize the high-quality and sustainable development of BRICS trade and investment.
The forum was hosted by the CCPIT, supported by China General Technology Group, and organized by the CCPIT Commercial Sub-Council. A total of 1,500 people from international organizations, administrative department of standardization of relevant countries, chambers of commerce and association, business leaders and envoys in China attended the meeting.
