The Online Forum on China-Thailand Investment Cooperation, hosted by the Thailand Board of Investment (BOI) and co-organized by the China Chamber of International Commerce (CCOIC) and the Hong Kong Trade Development Council (HKTDC), was held on March 18th. Gao Yan, Chairperson of both the China Council for the Promotion of International Trade (CCPIT) and the CCOIC, together with Supattanapong Punmeechaow, Deputy Prime Minister of Thailand, and Lin Jianyue, Chairman of the HKTDC, attended the forum and delivered speeches.
Gao Yan said that China-Thailand economic and trade cooperation enjoys a solid foundation and China has been Thailand's largest trading partner for eight consecutive years. The two sides have deepened cooperation in innovative areas such as digital economy and e-commerce, showing sufficient resilience and wide space. This year, China will implement the "14th Five-Year Plan", accelerate the construction of a new development paradigm with domestic circulation as the mainstay and domestic and international circulations reinforcing each other, deepen reform and opening up, and promote high-quality Belt and Road cooperation. The CCPIT will continue to give full play to its advantages, build an effective service platform and make contributions to the development of China-Thailand economic and trade relations.
With the theme of "Resilience Strategy: Building a Thailand Innovation and Investment Center", this forum aims to further upgrade the level of China-Thailand investment cooperation and encourage more Chinese enterprises to invest in Thailand. The forum has set up policy interpretation, experience sharing, thematic discussion, enterprise Q&A and other sessions to help enterprises understand Thailand's investment support policies. Nearly 300 Chinese companies from the fields of project contracting, Internet, light industry, biomedicine, finance and services attended the forum.
Zhang Shaogang, Vice Chairman of the CCPIT, and officials from the CCPIT Department of International Relations and the CCOIC Department of Bilateral Cooperation also attended the forum.
