CCPIT and CCOIC Object to US Expanding Controls on Semiconductor Export to China

On October 27th, Sun Xiao, the spokesperson of the China Council for the Promotion of International Trade (CCPIT), said at a regular press conference that the U.S. adds 31 Chinese entities to its Unverified List and imposes additional export controls on semiconductors destined for China, expanding controls on new items and end uses of supercomputer and semiconductor manufacturing. This approach completely deviates from the original intention of export control as an internationally accepted measure, is suspected of violating WTO’s non-discrimination principle and severely affects the security and stability of global industrial and supply chains. The CCPIT and China Chamber of International Commerce (CCOIC) firmly oppose such practice and call on enterprises across the globe to maintain mutual trust and cooperation to cope with the adverse impact of U.S.’ unilateral action.
