From August 20 to 24, Zhang Shaogang, Vice Chairman of the China Council for the Promotion of International Trade (CCPIT), led a delegation to visit South Africa.
During the visit, Zhang Shaogang attended the BRICS Business Forum 2023 and delivered a speech. Zhang stated that the BRICS countries, as a constructive force in promoting global economic growth, provide strong impetus for global development. He called for enhanced policy coordination, pragmatic cooperation, and cooperation among various institutions in the BRICS countries to further advance intra-BRICS trade and investment.
During his stay in South Africa, Zhang Shaogang respectively met with Elizabeth, CEO of the Progressive Business Forum (PBF) of the African National Congress (ANC), Busisiwe Mabuza, Chairperson of the South Africa Chapter of the BRICS Business Council, Cas Coovadia, Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Business Unity South Africa (BUSA), Sergey Katyrin, President of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of the Russian Federation (RF CCI), and Allaben, President-Designate of the Brazilian National Confederation of Industry (CNI). During these meetings, they exchanged views on deepening multilateral and bilateral pragmatic cooperation, and promoted the first China International Supply Chain Expo (CISCE).
