At the invitation of the China Council for the Promotion of International Trade (CCPIT), Suzanne Clark, President and CEO of the U.S. Chamber of Commerce, led a delegation to China. On February 27, CCPIT Chairman Ren Hongbin met with Suzanne Clark and her delegation and together attended a working lunch hosted by the CCPIT in honor of the delegation.
Ren Hongbin stated that the CCPIT stands ready to work with the U.S. Chamber of Commerce to step up communication and contact, earnestly deliver on the common understandings between the two heads of state at the summit meeting in San Francisco, bring into better play the role of business associations, chambers of commerce and trade promotion agencies, and further deepen pragmatic cooperation in areas such as mutual visits of delegations, holding of exhibitions and forums, and information sharing, to inject stability and positive energy to China-U.S. economic and trade relations.
Suzanne Clark expressed that China is a market highly valued by American enterprises. The U.S. Chamber of Commerce is willing to continue playing its role, support U.S. enterprises to do business in China, deepen practical exchanges between business communities of the two countries, and promote the sound and steady growth of bilateral relations.
Responsible persons from CCPIT Beijing, Zhejiang, and Henan sub-councils and representatives of Chinese enterprises attended the event. Participants on the Chinese and American sides held in-depth exchanges on issues such as increasing local cooperation between the two countries, the development of China’s private enterprises in the US, and the hosting of and participation in the second China International Supply Chain Expo.
