On September 23, Ren Hongbin, Chairman of the China Council for the Promotion of International Trade (CCPIT), met with principal leaders from chambers of commerce and industry in member states of the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) in Nanning, capital of China’s Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region.

Ren Hongbin stated that the joint announcement of the establishment of a China-ASEAN Comprehensive Strategic Partnership by Chinese President Xi Jinping and leaders of ASEAN countries in 2021 charted the course for strengthened exchange and cooperation between the business communities of the two sides. The business community has always been an active participant in and promoter of the high-quality development of China-ASEAN economic and trade cooperation. The CCPIT stands ready to collaborate with its counterparts in ASEAN countries to jointly hold economic and trade exchange activities and facilitate high-level government-business dialogue as well as matchmaking among enterprises. Additionally, it seeks to leverage platforms such as the China-ASEAN Business and Investment Summit and the China International Supply Chain Expo to further deepen and substantiate bilateral economic and trade collaboration.

Principal leaders from chambers of commerce and industry in ASEAN countries attended this meeting, including those from the Lao National Chamber of Commerce and Industry, the National Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Brunei Darussalam, the Union of Myanmar Federation of Chambers of Commerce and Industry, the Philippine Chamber of Commerce and Industry, the Singapore Business Federation, the National Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Malaysia, and the Thailand-China Business Council.
