Symposium for Foreign Business Associations and Foreign Enterprises in Hong Kong Successfully Held

On December 9, a symposium for foreign business associations and foreign enterprises in Hong Kong was held in Hong Kong. Ren Hongbin, Chairman of the China Council for the Promotion of International Trade (CCPIT), led representatives of CCPIT, local branches and mainland enterprises to attend the event and delivered a speech. Major heads of foreign business associations in Hong Kong, including the American Chamber of Commerce in Hong Kong, the Australian Chamber of Commerce in Hong Kong, the British Chamber of Commerce in Hong Kong, and foreign enterprises in Hong Kong,including HSBC Hong Kong, Swire, Jardine Matheson, attended the event.

Ren said that the Third Plenary Session of the 20th Central Committee of the Communist Party of China emphasized the advantages of the “one country, two systems” system, consolidating and upgrading Hong Kong's status as an international financial, shipping and trade center, supporting Hong Kong to build an international cluster of high-quality talents, and improving the mechanism for Hong Kong and Macao to play a better role in the opening up of China. CCPIT is willing to further strengthen exchanges and cooperations with business associations and enterprises in Hong Kong, and make full use of high-quality cooperation platforms such as the China International Supply Chain Expo and the Business Conference on Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area Development to help foster a market-oriented, law-based and world-class business environment , and to create better conditions for enterprises to share the opportunities in China.

The symposium was co-organized by CCPIT and the Hong Kong General Chamber of Commerce (HKGCC). At the meeting, relevant organizations and enterprises exchanged views on consolidating and enhancing Hong Kong's advantages, promoting more multinational enterprises to invest in Hong Kong, jointly promoting the high-quality development of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area, and sharing the opportunities of Chinese modernization and development.
