On February 11, the China-Kazakhstan Entrepreneurs Economic and Trade Fair took place in Astana, capital of Kazakhstan. Ren Hongbin, Chairman of the China Council for the Promotion of International Trade (CCPIT), led a delegation of Chinese entrepreneurs to attend the meeting and delivered a speech. Raimbek Batalov, Chairman of the National Chamber of Entrepreneurs of the Republic of Kazakhstan “Atameken,” Han Chunlin, Chinese Ambassador to Kazakhstan, and Wang Guoquan, representative of the Chinese Chairman of the China-Kazakhstan Entrepreneurs Committee and Deputy General Manager of CITIC Group, attended the opening ceremony and delivered speeches. The event attracted over 200 people from the Chinese and Kazakh business communities.

Ren Hongbin said that the organization of Chinese entrepreneurs to visit Kazakhstan for economic and trade negotiations is a concrete action to implement the important consensus of the two heads of state and a pragmatic move to enhance cooperation between the business communities of the two countries. At present, China is pursuing Chinese modernization through high-quality development and steadily expanding high-standard opening up. The CCPIT is willing to work with the Kazakh side to take the high-quality Belt and Road cooperation as a guide, jointly prepare for a range of activities to be held this year, such as the China-Central Asia Business Council meeting in Kazakhstan and the Shanghai Cooperation Organization Business Forum in China, and encourage enterprises from both  sides to deepen cooperation in trade, investment, industrial and supply chains. Additionally, concerted efforts will be made to respond to unstable factors in global economic and trade development and further consolidate the permanent comprehensive strategic partnership between China and Kazakhstan.

Batalov said that Kazakhstan is a reliable partner and key participant in the Belt and Road Initiative. Atameken will strive to foster an enabling business environment for foreign investors, including those from China. The organization of Kazakh enterprises to participate in the second China International Supply Chain Expo (CISCE) has received fruitful results. It will actively organize enterprises and local governments to participate in the third CISCE. Atameken will work in collaboration with the CCPIT to build more platforms for increased cooperation between the two business communities.

The economic and trade fair was co-hosted by the CCPIT and Atameken, with the theme of “Further Expanding China-Kazakhstan Trade and Industrial Cooperation.” During the event, representatives from Chinese and Kazakh business communities conducted in-depth discussions on key areas of cooperation such as oil and gas trade, clean energy, agricultural cooperation, and international logistics. Representatives of Chinese and Kazakh enterprises signed eight cooperation agreements on the spot, including the China-Kazakhstan Strategic Energy Cooperation Agreement and the China-Kazakhstan Agreement on the Import and Export of Agricultural Products.
