CCPIT Vice Chairman Chen Jian'an Leads a Delegation to Visit Ethiopia

From February 23 to 24 local time, Chen Jian'an, Vice Chairman of the China Council for the Promotion of International Trade (CCPIT), led a delegation of Chinese entrepreneurs to visit Ethiopia. This visit aimed to implement important results of the 2024 Summit of the Forum on China-Africa Cooperation in Beijing, promote trade prosperity and strengthen industrial chain cooperation. It focused on enhancing China-Africa cooperation through practical business cooperation, contributing to the modernization of Africa, and promoting the stability and smooth operation of global industrial and supply chains.

During the visit, Chen Jian'an and the delegation conducted a field research on Bole Lemi Industrial Park, Kilinto Industrial Park, the Africa Centers for Disease Control and Prevention(CDC), and the Addis Ababa-Djibouti Railway. They met separately with Gebremeskel Chala, Ethiopia's Minister of Trade and Regional Integration , Lelise Neme Sori, Commissioner of the Ethiopian Investment Commission, and Aynalem Abayeh, Vice President of the Ethiopian Chamber of Commerce and Sectoral Associations (ECCSA). They had in-depth discussions on topics such as promoting trade and investment cooperation between the two countries, improving the local business environment, and encouraging the Ethiopian business community to actively participate in the third China International Supply Chain Expo (CISCE).

During the visit, the CCPIT organized the 2025 Ethiopia-China Economic and Trade Forum and the Promotion Event for the 3rd CISCE. Chen Jian'an, along with Yasmin Wohabrebbi, State Minister of Trade and Regional Integration of Ethiopia, Lelise Neme Sori,, Commissioner of the Ethiopian Investment Commission, Ambassador Negus Kebede of the Ethiopian Foreign Affairs Ministry, Aynalem Abayeh, Vice President of the Ethiopian Chamber of Commerce and Sectoral Associations (ECCSA), and Chen Hai, Chinese Ambassador to the Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia, attended and delivered speeches. The event also featured multiple business discussions between companies from both countries. 

Additionally, the China International Economic and Trade Arbitration Commission(CIETAC)signed a cooperation agreement with the Addis Ababa Chamber of Commerce and Sectoral Associations Arbitration Institute (AACCSA Al) to further promote the development of commercial dispute resolution mechanisms between China and Africa. The delegation also paid a visit to Chen Hai, Chinese Ambassador to the Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia, and Hu Changchun, Ambassador of the Chinese Mission to the African Union.
