On March 20, the China-Serbia Economic and Trade Cooperation Forum was held in Belgrade, the capital of Serbia. Ren Hongbin, Chairman of the China Council for the Promotion of International Trade (CCPIT), Marko Cadez, President of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Serbia (CCIS), Li Ming, Chinese Ambassador to Serbia, and Adrijana Mesarovic, Serbian Minister of Economy, attended and addressed the event.

Ren Hongbin stated that under the strategic guidance of the heads of state of both countries, China and Serbia have continuously deepened their comprehensive strategic partnership and worked together to build a China-Serbia community with a shared future in the new era. The CCPIT is willing to collaborate with the Serbian side to pursue high-quality Belt and Road cooperation, support the business communities of both countries in further tapping into the potential for trade and investment cooperation, and expand cooperation in emerging fields such as scientific and technological innovation, advanced manufacturing, green energy, the digital economy, and artificial intelligence. Ren welcomed more Serbian enterprises to participate in the third China International Supply Chain Expo (CISCE) to jointly elevate the economic and trade cooperation between China and Serbia to a new level. Additionally, Ren expressed China’s active support for Serbia’s hosting of the Specialized Expo 2027 Belgrade.

The Serbian participants said that China and Serbia are ironclad friends who share weal and woe, and bilateral economic and trade cooperation has shown strong dynamism. They expressed the hope that enterprises from both countries will fully leverage international platforms such as the CISCE to expand cooperation in emerging industries and jointly build industrial and supply chains that are secure, stable, and mutually beneficial. They looked forward to more capable Chinese enterprises investing and doing business in Serbia.

Co-hosted by the CCPIT and the CCIS, the forum attracted approximately 200 representatives from trade and investment promotion institutions, business associations, chambers of commerce and enterprises from both countries.
