From March 23 to 25, Ren Hongbin, Chairman of the China Council for the Promotion of International Trade (CCPIT), held separate meetings in Beijing with leaders of renowned multinational corporations and institutions, including Apple, Walmart, Corning, Cargill, Qualcomm, Prologis, Tapestry, Mercedes-Benz, Wacker, Swire, Novartis, TCP Group, and the U.S. Soybean Export Council. The discussions focused on enhancing exchanges and cooperation between Chinese and foreign business communities, encouraging foreign-funded enterprises and institutions to firmly establish their presence in China, and strengthening collaboration in industrial and supply chains.
Ren Hongbin briefed the attendees on the guiding principles of China’s “Two Sessions” (annual session of the National People’s Congress and the Chinese People’s Political Consultative Conference). He added that China has long been committed to high-standard opening up and welcomes multinational corporations and institutions to continue to deepen their cooperation and expand their footprint in the country. The CCPIT will continue to support the development of foreign-funded enterprises and institutions in China in various forms and through multiple channels. In addition, Ren encouraged the attendees to actively engage in the third China International Supply Chain Expo (CISCE) to jointly maintain the stability of global industrial and supply chains.
The heads of the above-mentioned enterprises and institutions unanimously expressed that Premier Li Qiang’s keynote speech at the opening ceremony of the China Development Forum 2025 sent a clear message that the Chinese government will unswervingly advance high-standard opening up, injecting momentum and confidence into the development of foreign-funded enterprises and institutions in China. They reiterated their optimism about the development prospects of China’s economy and its market, and pledged to deepen their investments and cooperation in China. They also thanked the CCPIT for its relentless efforts in promoting exchanges and cooperation between Chinese and foreign business communities, as active exchanges and interactions between business communities are vital to achieving mutual benefit and common development in bilateral economic and trade relations. They expressed their willingness to further strengthen cooperation with the CCPIT, maintain close contact and seek common development.
